Akosombo dam spillage: Impact & Response

This panel discussion will be in solidarity with the people of the Volta region of Ghana, who have been affected the water spills from the Akosombo dam. Lots of homes have been flooded, destroyed and peoples livelihoods, properties and assets ruined.

Could this whole “tragedy” not have been avoided or better managed? And, how are victims being helped to cope? What more needs to be done? Are all affected areas being reached? These and many more questions are demanding answers.
