The African Fashion Week is an initiative to highlight other important and positive narratives of both the African continent and its diaspora community.
There is more than just slavery, poverty, corruption or war to project about the continent, and that is why the African Fashion Week is a big deal.
The organisers have been at it for ten (10) years already, and this weekend (Friday 29 and Saturday 30 August) promises to showcase some of the best the continent has to offer in terms of fashion.

The youth of today are living a world very different from one of their parents. They are exposed to situations, experiences and situations quite foreign to that of their parents. Because a lot happens online these days, they are exposed to risks and dangers online. Sometimes, this leads to they becoming indoctrinated and/or  radicalized. Also, the younger girls may fall prey to pedophiles, pimps or other vicious people online.
 
In this show we will be exploring these issues and more, and how we may protect our children.

Antonio is a project leader responsible for youth and security, of Amsterdam Southeast district

For a few years already, plans have been afoot to install windmills for the production of green energy in parts of the Amsterdam municipality.
Different parts of the municipality have been under consideration for the siting of these huge devices, but the mere fact that they will be really close to residential neighbourhoods is giving cause for major concern on health grounds for residents.
This programme will be considering the possible impact of siting these machines close to homes, and what options are available to residents for altering the course of these plans by the city council.

This debate is intended to give our listeners in Amsterdam, the chance to become more acquainted with elements of the manifestoes of the parties on the panel. Also, this will be an opportunity to educate listeners better on the electoral choices available to them.
On the panel today is Christen Unie (represented by Don Ceder) and Volt (represented by Astrid Plugge).

This panel discussion will be in solidarity with the people of the Volta region of Ghana, who have been affected the water spills from the Akosombo dam. Lots of homes have been flooded, destroyed and peoples livelihoods, properties and assets ruined.Could this whole “tragedy” not have been avoided or better managed? And, how are victims being helped to cope? What more needs to be done? Are all affected areas being reached? These and many more questions are demanding answers.

On 1 July 2023 the abolition of Dutch slavery past was commemorated with a ceremony at the Oosterpark in Amsterdam.
King Willem-Alexander was in attendance and he gave a speech in which he apologized on behalf of the Dutch state and the royal family for their role in slavery.
Commemorative activities are scheduled to take place all year round. 
The Southeast district is also specially connected with slavery past owing to its diversity as well as the large number of residents of slavery descent. Hence, this event resonates very well with its people.
Vayhista is of Suriname origin and ancestry. She therefore can relate very well to this subject-matter. Also, her portfolio responsibility for diversity and anti-discrimination places her squarely in charge of slavery past-related matters. She is the guest on this show.

In this show they will be sharing on the journey of NIDO Europe during the past 20 years. They will be speaking of the successes, challenges and the opportunities encountered on this journey.

Last year we tackled “forced abandonment” in general, as one of the harmful practices being perpetrated against victims. Due to the lasting and damaging emotional and psychological impact this practice has on victims, campaigns and discussions are still ongoing to create more awareness, and to help stop this evil. 
This programme will be looking at the some of the trauma and psychological scars inflicted on victims in the process.

The aim of this programme is to share with the body of Christ and general public, more about the work of SKIN national and SKIN Amsterdam, as part of the 1st anniversary celebrations.
